ABOUT US

My name is Ian Boxall, and I am a radio DJ based on the south coast, and I am available for weddings, birthdays, and corporate events.
Music is and has always been my passion. Some of my earliest memories are of listening to the Motown music and bands like the Temptations and Supremes that my parents were so fond of. As I got older I started listening to Radio London and DJs such as Tony Blackburn, Robbie Vincent before progressing to live events in pubs, clubs, concert halls and arenas. To this day I attend live events whenever I can.
Classic soul, jazz and funk feature heavily in my life as I present 2 regular shows every week on Soul Groove Radio, an international station with a wide audience.
My musical taste is not confined to this genre however as I listen to many, if not all types of music. Music is a very personal thing; it has the power to invoke powerful memories and create the ambiance that you desire for your event. With this in mind I will work with you to create the playlist that is right for you and your guests. I can play music spanning many genres from the fifties through to the present day.

Val Prior Birthday Celebration

Saturday 18th May 2024

Val contacted me during the middle of February to enquire about my availability for her birthday party in May Once I confirmed her booking we worked together via email and text to create a playlist. When she sent out invitations she asked her guests for their music preferences/requests and the playlist has been amended accordingly. I have also assured her that I will be ready and willing to play requests on the night.

Donna 40th Birthday party

25 November 2023

Donna asked me to DJ at her 40th birthday bash in East Bourne on Saturday, November 25, 2023. Since she was the guest of honor, I inquired about her music preferences. Donna promptly created a playlist with all her favorite tunes. I played the entire list, and it turned out to be an amazing evening. The dance floor was packed with people grooving and enjoying themselves. It was a fantastic celebration!

On New Year's Eve, December 31, 2023, I had the pleasure of DJing at the biggest party of the year. Everyone was excited to ring in the new year. I asked the host about their favorite songs, and we made a playlist together. The music got everyone on their feet, dancing and having a blast. Seeing he was the guest he asked me what type of music would I play and I advised him that it was his party and I would play the music he wanted, with that he made me a Playlist and played all his music he requested, it was a really good evening lots of people up and dancing and having a good time.

Ian was the DJ for my 66th birthday party. I knew of Ian through mutual friends and hearing him on his show on Soul Groove Radio. From the first contact he was so enthusiastic and helpful. Between us we compiled an uplifting playlist for my birthday party. On the night I was so impressed by his fun loving spirit and ability. He even came out on to the dance floor to show us how it’s done! I highly recommend him to anyone planning a fun filled occasion.

    Last New Year's Eve I attended a golf club party at which Ian was the DJ. Ian did a 4hr set of party music, reading the audience and playing the type of music which was enjoyed by all. It seemed as if everyone was up and dancing throughout the evening, myself included, as well as the group of friends I was with - we all had a fantastic night!     I had my 40th birthday party in November 2023 and Ian kindly agreed to do the disco. Ian was amazing, arrived early and got set up quickly, whilst we set up the room, he had music playing. Nothing was too much of a bother and he even let the children talk on his microphone, Ian provided a great atmosphere and kept us up on our feet all night, towards the end the room had really got into fall flow that we didn’t want to stop. Ian has such a lovely character and was so engaging with my guests; he really did make it a great evening.

    Seaford Golf Club - New Years Eve Party - 31st December 2023. His choice of music during the Seaford Golf Club New Years Eve Party was superb. Ian has an extensive knowledge of music, and he knows just what to play, at the right time, to keep the audience fully involved. He is extremely versatile, and he adapted the music brilliantly - the dance floor was constantly full, with lots of happy dancers. He was also keen to involve the audience and was more than happy to play requests during the night. A fantastic evening, enhanced by the DJ and his music selections.     We're very remiss in not writing sooner but felt we had to say - what a brilliant time we had at the New Year's Eve party held at Seaford Golf Club. At previous NYE celebrations the entertainment has been varied but what a difference at 2023-2024. We had such a fun packed evening. The group of friends who we were celebrating with all agreed that the DJ Ian Boxall made the evening so enjoyable. His 'special shirt' and music choices made the whole occasion so much fun. The 60's 70's and 80's music was aimed perfectly at the age level for the guests to sing along and dance to plus he welcomed any requests. His enthusiasm was infectious. Once we were up on the dance floor we hardly left it! Phew!! what a great time. Having experienced such a BRILLIANT evening we will most definitely look forward to other events at Seaford Golf Club when Ian Boxall is the DJ.

    Top DJ Ian! What a fantastic night thanks to Ian playing fabulous tunes throughout the night for Helen’s party @ The Winning Post Saturday. His range of music is endless & he made sure all Helen’s favourite tunes were played (which took lots of communication before the night between them both) but also happy to play any other requests from the guests on the night. Even managed to grab a dance with him when he came out from behind the decks. We all had a blast boogieing the night away & will be recommending DJ Ian for future do’s 100%.

    I can highly recommend Ian to get your party going! As people were arriving, he played a lovely selection of tracks, low key so people could easily mingle, chat and catch up with one another. A little later it was time to step it up and Ian didn’t disappoint! Track after track of great tunes soon had the dance floor filling up - he was happy to take requests too. Ian has a great sense of fun as well as an easy rapport with people. He DJ’d for about 5 hours and played music across all genres - something for everyone and really made it a night to remember.
